Amazon's voice-activated assistant, Alexa, has acquired a new skill — philanthropic donations via voice command. Found on Amazon devices, the attentive app makes it easier than ever to donate to over 300 charitable organizations.
Alexa Donations utilizes direct the voice command, "Alexa, make a donation," to proceed with making a contribution to an important cause. Currently, users can donate to a number of national and niche organizations to achieve their philanthropic objectives, with a current list of organizations available here.
Transactions are made through the user's Amazon Pay account, enabling single donations ranging from $5 - $5,000. Despite security concerns, Amazon has assured users their transactions will be protected, providing increased security measures during the donation process. Once the transaction is confirmed and completed, a receipt is immediately sent to the user's email and Alexa App, along with additional resources and information about the charitable cause.
