Just days after being struck by Category 4 Hurricane Eta, Tropical Storm Iota has torn through the Central American coast, devastating countries such as Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador.
The life-threatening storms have triggered on onset of destruction including flash floods and catastrophic landslides, which have swept away homes and submerged communities underwater. This has become the region’s second natural disaster is under two weeks, with citizens in Central America still grappling with Hurricane Eta’s aftermath which left many regions without shelter, food supply, and electricity. In response to the devastating destruction, there are a number of organizations mobilizing to provide humanitarian aid in Honduras and surrounding countries in Central America.
